Samsung S25 S24 Ultra Indian vs International variants difference

Believe it or not, Samsung’s Indian version is different from the international version. This is weird considering Apple sells same phone around the world except for eSIM and physical SIM differences. Samsung S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra variants sold in India is different from international version.

So what are the differences?

No Jio 5G

One would blame Reliance Jio for not using a standard 5G band that is used in most parts of the world. However, that is not the case with Apple iPhone which has the JIO 5G band in Samsung S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra. This does not mean Jio SIM would not work on an international version. Only the 5G signal would not be picked up by your phone. That said, Airtel, Vodafone and other Indian SIM cards work just fine.

No call recording

International versions do not have the capability to do call recording. If you have a habit of recording other people’s calls, then you have no choice but to buy the Indian version of Samsung S25 or S24 Ultra.

UPI in Samsung Wallet

UPI is very popular in India and if you have been using the UPI feature in Samsung Wallet app, you will be disappointed to find international versions lacking this very feature. Other than that, Samsung Wallet works as expected – credit card tap to pay feature work just like Indian version. This does not mean UPI would not work – you can use any UPI app like PhonePe, BHIM or Google Pay on your international version and it would work just fine.

Other than these three differences, there are absolutely no differences between the Indian and international versions.
