The .IN domains security has received an upgrade by the Indian government. Now, every time you register a IN domain, you will asked to do domain verification.

If you do not do this verification, you will not be able to activate the domain.
For this, you will need these things.
1) Adhaar card.
2) Mobile number linked to that adhaar card.
The registrant name must match the adhaar name and that is the reason why your domain verification fails. This also means it is no longer possible to register a domain under name of a company or organization. Domain must be registered as an individual whose name perfectly matches name on the adhaar card.
If it does not matches, the domain verification will keep failing. Even spelling of last name matters, so even if there is a spelling mistake anywhere in domain’s owner name, verification will fail. For that, Gadget Mix suggests editing the domain’s owner name so that it matches your Adhaar card name.
Also, while this is obvious, if the mobile number is not linked to the adhaar card, you will never receive OTP to proceed on the digilocker website that pops up to bridge information between a domain register like GoDaddy and your adhaar card.
