Changing CSC and firmware updates on android phone

If you change CSC using SamFw Tool, you may end getting a combination on your phone that may not be eligible for further software updates. Now, while changing CSC does not void the warranty as you can simply flash your previous CSC and pretend to your service provider that nothing happened.

Changing CSC and firmware updates

To find out if the current CSC is eligible for updates or not, fire up Play Store and search for CheckFirm – download and install it. It is free.

If you see something under latest official firmware and latest test firmware, then this means you are good to go and the new CSC installed by you is fully supported by Samsung.

Another way to get the updates in case your android phone is not eligible is by rolling back to previous, compatible CSC and fetching the updates that way. Once the updates are installed, you can install the CSC of your choice using the SamFw tool.

This method is tiring but it works. Keep in mind changing CSC does not forces a hard reset.

This video shows how to change the CSC to INS on a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra so that the user can enable call recording and use Samsung Wallet to make UPI payments that are very popular in India.
