The New Gateway EC-100 is mighty strong – Priced at 450 Euros
Gateway has rolled out an 11.6-inch EC1400-31K netbook. It is equipped with the Intel’s new SU2300 1.2GHz CULV (Celeron) processor, which is more powerful than the Intel Atom processors found in most of the netbooks. It features 2GB of RAM, 250GB of HDD, WiFi, Web camera and weighs around 1.4kg.
It is set to carry a price tag of €450. Expect it to land in late September in Japan. It is not known at the moment when it will make its way to US or EU.

Nokia Smartbook to hit the market next year and an ARM-based Nokia netbook in the tunnel
We few days back mentioned about the much talked Nokia’s new Booklet 3G netbook and now the company is again in the news for its smartbook. Few sources in Taiwan claim that ‘Nokia will release an ARM based smartbook in mid 2010 next year.’
Nokia Booklet 3G will there in the market in early 2010. But still, everyone is waiting for 2nd of September to hear for the formal words from the company. The Booklet 3G is rumored to carry US $799 price tag.
Adesso rolls out compact wireless keyboard – for the netbooks with pathetic keyboards?

eBook’s LY-EB01 netbook is now officially world’s number 1 cheapest netbook. Made in China, this netbook runs Windows CE 5.0 and comes with 128MB RAM and sports a low price tag of $98.

Samsung N510 to be launched in US in September
Brad from Lilliputing has got a word from Samsung that the 11.6” Samsung N510 is soon to be launched in the month of September in and will carry the price tag of $599.
Yes, shockingly! its hundreds of dollars more costlier than existing 11.6” mini-notebooks available in the market but then again, none of those are ION based and have HDMI out ports. It has an Atom N280 processor which makes it more faster than recent 11.6” mini-notebooks that come with Atom Z520 processors. This is where the hundreds of dollars difference comes. But, still $599 may too steep for many people who are interested in netbooks.
Prolink Glee TA-009 netbook
Prolink has made its entry into the netbook market by unveiling its Glee TA-009 netbook. It has an 10.1-inch screen, Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 3-cell battery and is equipped with an internal HSUPA modem. It has left and right click buttons on its either side just like Acer Aspire One Ao110.
It will be sold at price tag of around $468.

Gigabyte rolls out T1028x – better than Gigabyte T1028
If you have been searching touchscreen netbook that comes with an 10-inch screen and has ‘more than average‘ resolution, not 1024×600 but 1366 x 768, then the Gigabyte T1028M might be just for you. It is equipped with an 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 CPU. The Gigabyte TouchNote T1028x will be the successor of old Gigabyte TouchNote T1028M. This machine has better screen (in terms of resolution), bigger keyboard and faster processor. It also has 160GB HDD and an Express card slot and has a pretty affordable price tag of $698.
Comparison between Gigabyte T1028 and the newer Gigabyte T1028x:
- T1028x has faster processor (N280 versus N270)
- More spacious hard disk (160GB versus 80GB)
- Better screen: T1028 has 1024×600 pixel resolution screen whereas the T1028x has 1366×768 pixel resolution screen.

New External DVD-RW From ASUS for Netbooks
Asus has rolled out an external DVD-RW, SDRW-08D1S which is made to match your Eee PC netbook. It looks pretty darn fine from every side and angle.
Just like any other DVD RW in the market, it supports all disk formats except Blueray. It can burn DVDs up to 8x speed and 24x speed for CD writing. The DVD RW does not come with any external power cable. All you have to do is to use a USB cable to connect it to your netbook to start burning CDs/DVDs.
No information on when it will be launched or about its price tag.

Samsung N510 – 11-inch screen and ION powered
According to NetbookItalia (Italian), Samsung is going to launch its ION powered 11.6 inch netbook in the month of July. The Samsung N510 (NP-N10-KA02UK) is the first 11.6-inch netbook that won’t come with the awfully slow Atom Z520. Instead, it uses the Intel Atom N280 CPU and Nvidia ION 9400M graphics, which will make sure that you are able to watch your 1080p videos easily.
Other than that it comes with a gig of RAM, 160GB HDD, Webcam, Bluetooth, card reader and Wi-Fi and will Windows XP. Expect the price to be around 600 Euros.
