Foxconn is in a contract to produce Apple’s long rumored tablet and it would be launched sometime in Q1 2010

No wonder Linux netbooks are not selling ‘that’ well! – Microsoft teaches Best Buy to trash Linux
Microsoft has confirmed (to dailyfinance) that it actually DOES train the Best Buy Employees the ‘important’ differences between Linux and Windows Computers. Few Best Buy employees leaked the training slides on the web which depict the Microsoft’s Anti-Linux agenda “Linux does not support many common applications and online services like iTunes, Zune, Quicken, Photoshop, and Office 2007″. They even go one step ahead and simply said “Linux is not safer than Windows”
Our take on the aforementioned claims by MSFT:
1) Linux does not support many common applications and online services like iTunes, Zune, Quicken, Photoshop, and Office 2007:
Linux may not be having the exact apps, but it has alternatives that do the same stuff. All that for free. For Photoshop, one can get GIMP. For Office, Openoffice and many others. There is even an app for syncing music with your iPod!

SmartQ 7 – a super sleek Internet tablet
The SmartQ 7 runs an unspecified Linux distro with specs that include WiFi, a USB-host mode, stereo speakers and claims to have 2 days of battery life (considering you run only music on it). It has 7-inch display with just WVGA resolution. I do not know what the folks at SmartQ thinking when equipping this super sleek device with such low resolution. The standard resolution for the MIDs and netbooks is 1024 x 600, which makes everything very enjoyable and usable.
With so many Windows Mobile phones now coming with WVGA displays, it makes perfect sense to equip the MIDs with higher resolution than the phones to give them an obvious benefit.
HTC TOUCH HD as a Mobile Internet Device (MID)- Review
This time we are going to review it from a different perspective – AS A MOBILE INTERNET DEVICE. If you have been following the windows mobile scene from the past couple of years, you must have observed that the display size of the mobile phones has decreased in size over the years. Whether we all like it or not, but it was the iPhone that brought the big screen to attention to the mobile phone manufactures.
