MSI WIND L2100-036US – 12.1-inch netbook with AMD NEO processor
MSI has silently unveiled yet another netbook. This time, it is the MSI WIND L2100 which sports an AMD Neo processor instead of some random Z-series Atom CPU.
Following the recent trend of equipping netbooks, the L2100 also comes with 250GB hard disk and 2GB RAM. It has 12.1-inch display with 1366×768 resolution. It also has an HDMI port which is still a novel feature in netbooks. There is a dedicated GPU (ATI Radeon X1250) too to that nice HD content.
Other specs: 3 USB 2.0 ports, VGA port, microphone jack, headphone jack, 1.3MP webcam, 4-in-one card reader, LAN and 2 Speakers. Weighing at 1.45kg (3.2lbs), it is certainly not that light to carry around like SONY VAIO X, but then the MSI costs 3-times less too
It comes with a 6-cell battery which should give you 4-5 hours of runtime as the AMD Neo is not as power-sipping as Intel Atom.
Prices start at $459
MSI X410 now on sale in Europe, Already shipping in France and Belgium
Few days back, we mentioned about the MSI X-slim notebook and Wind netbooks based on AMD’s NEO platform and according to fudzilla, amazingly, MSI has begun shipping some of its Neo-based notebooks, right now to particularly to France and Belgium. MSI is still in a mum about their products, which is yet not made public officially.
X410 is a very attracting model, weighing just 1.5kg and it’s under 25mm thick, which makes it the lightest and slimmest of all. It has a 14-inch display and is backed by an Athlon MV-40 at 1.6GHz, has 2GB of memory and 320GB of storage, draft-n wireless and comes installed with Vista Premium.
X410 is listed by some French vendors at as low as €414 although some are shipping at higher price which is slightly above €500. While Belgian e-tailers have also listed the X400, which is based on Intel’s SU3500 CPU. However, the price difference is astonishing. Shockingly, X400 costs €650, while the X410 is listed at just €499.
The battery life of AMD-based X410 with that of X400 is incomparable as the latter offers much better battery life.
MSI X-Slim X410 at just 499 Euros – Another AMD NEO based slim notebook
Yesterday we published about the ”MSI’s AMD-based X-Slim X610”. Now, another Neo based X410 has popped out of nowhere. This new Neo X-Slim seems to be a bit cheaper than the X610.
Backed by an Athlon Neo MV-40 CPU running at 1.6GHz; integrated Radeon X1250 graphics; 2GB RAM and 320GB hard disk, this is surely not going to be the most powerful slim notebook in town, but at €499, we are not complaining.
