Jolicloud renamed to Joli OS
Jolicloud is bound to release the ver. 1.2 of its OS in the coming days but it won’t b called Jolicloud 1.2. Rather, it will be known now as the Joli OS 1.2. They tend to shift in their focus for the OS. This was initially designed as an OS for netbooks. The idea is to blur the lines between those native and desktop applications by letting the user install shortcuts from home to web apps. The team has broadened their hardware support and now it can run on desktops as well as full laptops. Also, Jolicloud is veering away from Desktop OS. They will put bits of the OS on the cloud which is becoming an emerging trend like the Chrome OS. If you have an account with the Jolicloud account, you can open your desktop by using supported browsers. The great thing with this is that all you have to do is install the desktop OS on a bunch of computers and all the settings will be saved on the computers including some native apps on the desktop. This desktop OS and the web app are available in the Chrome web store. The web app will be called the online desktop and the desktop OS will be allied Joli OS. Soon enough, the company will be releasing an Android app. It is still not sure if Android tablets will be the only ones to have it but if it works on the Android tablet, you will be able to use the OS to access your desktop as well as run apps from the web.
The Joli OS might also be available in smartphone version but as of now, there are still no news regarding the Joli OS and if it will be a free app or you would have to pay for it. Just wait and see till it becomes official in a few days.
