Linux Mint 22.1 is in final stages of development and release is imminent. It was previously slated for Christmas release but due to some bug, the release was held.
As expected, Linux Mint 22.1 will be made available for download in various flavors including Cinnamon, Mate and Xfce. Download Linux Mint 22.1 or latest version from here. There are also links to their torrents if you wish to download that way.
Linux Mint 22.1 and upcoming 22.2 and 22.3 are all using Ubuntu 24.04 LTS as their base and this means, the updates will be pushed till 2029 at least. New features include new set of themes including light and dark modes. New Cinnamon 6.4 is present in the new 22.1 release that brings better performance and stability improvements.
The new version will be available for download over the next few days if not today. If you are a Windows user, Linux Mint will make you feel at home. It comes bundled with all the necessary applications to make the transition as simple as possible.
