Microsoft to increase the price of netbooks by Windows 7
So far, Microsoft has been very kind by offering Windows XP for just $25-$30 to the OEMs. Windows 7 is going to make its debut in the month of September this year. According to the latest news bits, Microsoft is planning to use Windows 7 to increase the price of netbooks.
Earlier, Microsoft offered Windows XP at ridiculously low prices to eradicate the possibility of Linux taking over the netbook market. However, it did not do anything for Vista. Call it fortunate or unfortunate, but Microsoft is not going to offer Windows 7 at the prices at which XP was offered. This clearly depicts that Microsoft does not want netbooks to remain cheap
