EXTREME MODDING: Replacing the 4GB internal SSD of EEE 701 with a 16GB SD card
Some people are either too enthusiastic or some are just simply crazy. A user(gtisingh) from EEEforum loves his EEE 701 to death and after owning from nearly 2 years now, he went ahead and replaced added a 16GB SDHC card. He did not stop there. He installed some fancy blue LEDs under its bonnet too!
Here are some of the pictures of his work. Click on them to see the bigger images.

there are a few corrections to the accuracy of this article i feel should be noted…
as a long time eeeuser forum member and having what i would say is a decent knowing of the user GTIsingh mentioned here i must say the following.
gtisingh’s owns a 700 model (2G), the SSD in those models is 2GB not 4, he didn’t “replace” it rather than add an SDHC card to run the OS from, the SSD in the 700/701 EeePCs is made of ICs integrated on the mainboard so they’re not so easily replaced.
just thought you might like to know ;)
Thanks for letting me know. I have made the required corrections :)
