MSI PS42 8RA and PS42 8M0 to carry Nvidia MX250 entry level GPU
Not everyone is a gamer and many just want a capable graphics card, other than integrated one in their laptops. That is why Nvidia came with 940MX that was replaced by MX150 last year. For 2019, Nvidia MX250 will be taking its place. Infact, this very GPU was spotted in two MSI laptops, PS428RA and PS42 8M0.
Performance wise, the MX250 should be equivalent to GTX960M since its predecessor, MX150’s performance was close to GTX950M. There are rumors that the MX250 is based on pascal architecture.
While detailed specifications of these laptops is not yet available, we do know both will be powered by latest Intel Whiskey Lake quad-core processor, optional GeForce MX250 alone, up to 16GB of DDR4-2666 memory.
We also know, they will feature full HD 14″ IPS screen with 100 percent sRGB color gamut coverage and a refresh rate of 60Hz. Powering it will be low-power quad-core i5-8265U, or quad-core i7-8565U. We also see a fingerprint reader on the touchpad.
Both PS428RA and PS42 8M0 come with dual fan + three Cooler Boost 3 heat pipe, which are required for proper heat dissipation. In terms of weight and size, the MSI PS42 8M0 and 8RA weigh 1.19kg and measure 32.2 × 22.2 × 15.9 mm. Battery life is said to be around 10 hours with its 50 watt-hour four-cell lithium polymer battery.
Price is expected to be around HKD 10,600 which is about 1350 dollars. [via zol] (Chinese)
