Google Announces the Android 6.0 and Two Nexus Phones

Google recently announced they are going to be releasing two new Nexus smartphones in the near future. These phones are called the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X, and will be much different than previous versions of Nexus. For starters, the phones are going to have the new Android 6.0 operating system. This is the latest version of the popular Android OS created by Google. The nickname for Android 6.0 is Marshmallow.

Besides the new OS, the phones will have better quality cameras, improved fingerprint sensory technology on the rear, bigger batteries, and new power saving options that will be included with Android 6.0. However, another change in the OS that IT managers and business users will appreciate are the enhanced security options. Users will now be able to keep their personal apps and business apps separate from each other. This kind of feature used to be available through add-on software and apps that you would have to download, but now users will be able to have the feature built right into the operating system.

Business people and workers are always struggling to separate their work related apps from their personal apps. Often times, workers will end up accidentally sharing sensitive company information through a private email, or sometimes even sensitive personal information through a corporate email. You have probably heard about stories where people end up accidentally sharing personal selfie pictures or even nude pictures of themselves with people they didn’t intend on sending them to. Well now, this problem will be avoidable in the new Android 6.0 because you can finally keep your personal data separate from your work data, and vice versa.

The LG Nexus 5X will have a 5.2 inch display screen and will be priced at $379 if The LG Nexus 5X will have a 5.2 inch display screen and will be priced at $379 if you purchase the standard 16GB model. As for the Huawei Nexus 6P, it will have a 5.7 inch display screen and priced at $499 if you purchase the 32GB model. Both come equipped with 64-bit processors. The phones were available to purchase starting at the end of October. The majority of the people purchasing these new phones are businesspeople, since the new features cater more to their needs. They are also more likely to afford the purchase because it is work related, which can be claimed as a deduction on their income tax. As for laypeople, they may still want to upgrade their Android phone to the newest Nexus model just to try out the latest Android operating system.

Is Nokia Cheating on Microsoft?

nokia_2014Nokia to Microsoft, “I think it’s time we see other people.”

Rumors have been floating for some time that Windows Phone OEM Nokia has been two-timing Microsoft by also having an Android phone project as a backup. Yesterday the Wall Street Journal added more fuel to dire by confirming that Nokia will expose an Android device at the Mobile World Congress trade show coming up in Barcelona this month. It might seem strange and surprising for Nokia to first handover its Windows Phone maker Microsoft in exchange for a $7.2 billion only to later build an Android powered device. But let’s not forget that Windows Phone was not able to challenge Android’s market share at the lower end of the Smartphone market in total. Maybe Nokia wants to switch to Android for budget devices and that could have Microsoft get a small piece of a large portion of smartphone market pie.

UMi introduced Iron Pro, 3GB of RAM and retinal scanner

The company UMi presented a couple of smartphones this year, including eMax and Iron models. The latest in a series of UMi device is also the most powerful – Umi Iron Pro.

UMi Iron has 3GB of RAM and retinal scanner, and the company decided to introduce Pro version of this model. Iron Pro is very similar to “ordinary” Iron model, but it has a few tricks up his sleeve.

UMi Iron Pro looks identical to UMi Iron, even it has the same dimensions. But Iron Pro has a fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C port. As for the specs, nothing has changed in this field. UMi Iron Pro has a 5.5-inch Full HD display along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory and slot for microSD memory card. The device starts MediaTek MT 6753 64-bit octa-core processor with Mali-T720 GPU. 13Mpix camera (Sony IMX214 sensor) is located on the back along with dual-LED flash while on the front is the camera of 8Mpix (OmniVision OV8858 sensor).

The battery of 3.350mAh is also present, and there is a support for 4G LTE (1800/2100/2600MHz). This is a device with support for two SIM cards, allowing you to use two Nano-SIM cards or a Nano-SIM with microSD card (up to 64GB). Iron Pro is equipped with Eyeprint ID sensor (scanner of the retina of the eye), which adds another level of protection for the device.

As for the software, the device comes with Android 5.1 (Lollipop) operating system. UMi added a couple of their applications and support for the gesture, but there are not many applications that would unnecessarily slow down the phone.

UMi Iron Pro is made of metal and it will be sold at a price of only $179.99.

Samsung’s Gigantic Galaxy S6 Edge+ Phablet Reportedly Leaked In This Photo

There is a big debate in the tech community as to whether Smartphones should be big or not. Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Edge+ is a supersized version of their previous model. The website “All About Samsung” has already released photographs of this new gigantic Smartphone with a 5.7 inch display. Smartphones this size have been called “phablets,” which is a term that describes a phone that is between the size of a typical Smartphone and the size of a tablet. Some consumers think of big Smartphones like this as tiny tablets. Since they are very similar, it can get kind of difficult to separate a phablet from a tablet or Smartphone.

The specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ are not very clear at the moment. We only know what we have seen in the pictures of the device, which obviously don’t make it clear what the specifications are. The rumors state that the phone won’t come with a removable battery, SD card or stylus. Critics predict the phone will have 3GB of RAM and the eight core computer processor called “Exynos 7420.” The Super AMOLED pixel display will be 2560×1440, which means superior quality over the previous version of the device. Now if all of these specification predictions come true, this phone will become a huge competitor to the iPhone 6 Plus and the iPhone 6S that is scheduled to get released soon.

Speculators tend to make a lot of predictions based off a few leaked photos. But logical thinking is probably the best way to predict the outcome of this phone’s release. The question you have to ask yourself is, “Do people really want a bigger phone?” Sure it may be better to look at a bigger screen, but the problem is when you have to carry that phone around with you. Many people like to put their Smartphones inside their pockets for easy access. But if the screen size is too big then it will make storing the phone in your pockets much more difficult. You mine as well get a tablet then because that has a huge screen and can perform the same functions as a Smartphone. However, people could always purchase a clip to attach the Edge+ to their belt or waistline. Overall, the affordability of the Smartphone will be the most important thing. If the phone ends up being cheaper than the newest iPhone 6 Plus, then perhaps it will win over consumers. Only time will tell.

Smartphone with an Abundance of Cloud Space Just Reached its Kickstarter Goal

There has been a smartphone development for a while now by the company Nextbit. Their goal was to create a cloud based smartphone, which has already gotten people’s attention. This startup tech company is being run by a former Google executive and a former HTC executive. They had put up a Kickstarter campaign to help raise money for the development and competition of Nextbit’s cloud based smartphone called “Robin.” People who pledged more than $299 would receive the phone and a charging cable. Within one day, the company raised their goal amount of $500,000. The public’s interest in this phone was a shock to CEO and co-founder Tom Moss. But what this proves is that new smartphone technology is a huge marketplace and will always attract people to it.

The great thing about this cloud based smartphone is that it will have up to 100GB of cloud storage and 32GB of internal storage. Most smartphones store data on its SD card or internal memory, which are both very limited. The typical SD card for a smartphone will hold up to 32GB of data. If you are someone who downloads lots of videos and pictures onto their smartphone, then 32GB would get used up pretty fast. But with the cloud based smartphone, most of the memory you store runs off a cloud server that connects to your phone through the internet. This includes memory used for storing apps and files as well. Imagine being able to play a game or use a piece of software that isn’t even running off your smartphone, but rather a cloud server somewhere else. This is truly the new age for smartphone technology and it is only getting better. The best part is that if you lose or damage your smartphone, all of the memory will stay stored on the cloud server and can be retrieved when you get a new smartphone. This alone has consumers going wild over the Nextbit Robin smartphone.

There are many other great things about the Nextbit Robin. It has a comfortable design with buttons that are symmetrically placed and the battery life lasts for a long time. The cost of the smartphone should be pretty affordable. If you were to make the pledge right now you can get it for $299. The price is likely to go up later on after it is officially released in retail stores. Since smartphones are usually priced based on the amount of memory they can store, the Nextbit Robin may prove itself to be big competition to the other brand named smartphones on the market.

Huawei Nexus Rumors Get a Boost From New Report

The Chinese telecommunications and computer equipment company, Huawei, is rumored to be teaming up with Google for the creation of their next Nexus phone nicknamed “Bullhead.” This collaboration could involve the Google Play Store being brought to China because it would get preinstalled on the Huawei Nexus when it gets released there. If Google pulls this off then they would be opening up their stores to a whole new market of consumers. Rumors also suggest that the agreement between Google and Huawei would involve a way to introduce the Huawei Watch into the Western marketplace. There may even be a possibility that this Android run wearable will work with iPhones as well. But these are all just rumors and there are no guarantees that any of it will happen.

The main obstacle Google faces is gaining reentry into the Chinese marketplace. Right now they are only helping with the development of the next Nexus phone, but there are no guarantees that the Google Play Store will be on there. This is just a wish that Google wants to make come true. The good news is it looks like the United States will be getting the phone very soon. The device contains a 3500mAh battery and 5.7 inch screen display, which would ultimately make it a phablet because of its above average size. In the mean time, LG is developing another Nexus phone with the nickname “Angler.” This will be a smaller Smartphone with a 5.2 inch display, a 2700mAh battery, a Snapdragon 808 processor and a totally new exterior design.

Google hasn’t released any specifications on the hardware for the Nexus devices yet. Critics think Google is waiting to release their next version of the Android operating system called “Android M” before they give out the hardware specs. Google should be release the Android M near the end of the year, so perhaps they will reveal it then. With four months left, Google still has time to negotiate with Huawei and come up with a great agreement that will satisfy both parties.

Consumers still care more about cost than anything else. Even if Google is able to get the Huawei Nexus into the United States, the affordability of the device will likely attract them the most. As for the consumers of the Chinese market, they will bring plenty of business to Google if the company is able to get their Play Store onto the Nexus phones sold in China. It will be exciting to see how the arrangement between Huawei and Google pans out.

Apple iPad vs. Microsoft Surface 3

The Apple iPad is one of the best selling tablets ever. Other computer companies have tried competing with Apple in this area, but Apple has still remained number one when it comes to manufacturing tablets. However, this may change very soon because Microsoft is getting in on the action. They have already developed their own Microsoft Windows tablet that is an alternative to the Apple iPad. The Microsoft Surface 3 was released in 2014 and has gotten a lot of positive feedback from tech enthusiasts. The retail price is going to be around $499, which is about the price of a new iPad. So there won’t be much diversity as far as the price is concerned. The diversity comes with the new tablet features found in the Microsoft Surface 3. One new feature is the magnetic clip on keyboard that attaches itself to the front of your tablet. It is said to be a step up from the swivel mechanism that operates the keyboard on the iPad. But more importantly, Microsoft’s Surface 3 is said to help you actually work without needing a laptop.

Microsoft Surface tablets have only been around for three years. In the beginning, they were merely created to compete with Apple. But these Surface tablets have quickly advanced into a successful product line that more people are starting to use. There are also a variety of accessories you can purchase for it, such as keyboards and styli. You can even install Microsoft Office programs such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel. If you choose the Microsoft Office 365 subscription when you purchase your tablet then you can get the entire suite of programs bundled together with it. The screen quality of the new tablet is also much sharper than previous Surface models, but it still has the same full size USB port. This means you can plug in a regular PC mouse or keyboard if you want to use that with your tablet.

Right now the Surface 3 is being advertised heavily to schools and colleges around the country. Parents are also taking an interest in the tablet because it is a suitable device to give their children for school. But the big question is, should you buy this tablet if you already have an iPad? It all depends on how much money you have and how much you are willing to spend. If you already have office suite products on your iPad then you might not think it’s worth switching over to Surface 3 just yet. But if you just want to own the newest Microsoft tablet and experience the differences right away, then definitely consider purchasing this product.

A Source Just Told Us Why Apple May Be Making a Stylus – and Why it Could Be Huge (AAPL)

Apple seems to always be the first one to change the shape of mobile devices and how they are used. Rumors now suggest they are going to come out with their own stylus. This is surprising to a lot of people because even Steve Jobs hated the idea of incorporating them with Apple products. But as more businesspeople and working professionals depend on Apple devices for their work, the demand for a stylus to touch the screen with is increasing in large numbers. For example, if somebody working in the food industry has to use their iPad for their work, it doesn’t help if they are using their dirty gloves to touch the screen. A stylus would allow their dirty hands to stay off the screen. Another example is with graphic artists who want to create their own digital artwork on their iPad or even their iPhone. They can’t draw pictures with their fingers because the tip of their finger is too big. But the stylus can become a digital drawing tool for them, so they can be more precise in their work through hand drawing.

Now the big question is will layman people want to have a stylus? It is nice to create them for specific types of working people that can benefit from them, but if the majority of the public won’t purchase them then it could be a problem for Apple. However a survey indicates that a great number of people want a stylus because they don’t like texting with their fingers. This likely has to do with “fat finger” errors, which is when people with fat fingers end up pressing the digital keys around the one key they are trying to press. This causes errors in their text messages, which causes frustration and irritation to the user and the person trying to read the messages. A stylus will solve this problem by just allowing people to press the keys with the narrow tip of the object.

The bottom line is that the stylus will just be an optional accessory. Apple is not going to require people to use the stylus and they certainly won’t force you to purchase a new iPhone in order to use it. You can simply download the updates to your existing iPhone or iPad to support the stylus and its internal communication block. The only information that remains to be seen is the price of the stylus. If the price is reasonable enough then it will definitely attract existing Apple customers. But if it is a few hundred bucks then they will likely pass on it.
