CES 2012 Rundown – The Story So Far

CES 2012 Rundown – The Story So Far

With Apple absent from CES 2012, other manufacturers can feel a bit more confident about showing their tablet wares. However, sluggish sales of Android tablets have meant the big boys are more cautious. Toshiba has unveiled a super-slim ICS slate, the Excite X10, which at least design-wise is an improvement on the blocky Thrive tablets [...]

Lenovo U400 – Review

Lenovo U400 – Review

The Lenovo U400 looks just like a scaled-up version of Lenovo U300s ultrabook. The U400 squeezes in an optical drive, adding significantly to its dimensions and weight, but at 4.37 pounds and 0.9 inches thick, it’s still pretty portable – one of the lightest 14-inchers around. Design-wise it’s a clone of the U400s -a graphite [...]

Lenovo Ideapad S9e released in Japan

Lenovo Ideapad S9e released in Japan

Lenovo has launched Ideapad S9e in Japan. It is quite similar to the Lenovo Ideadpad S10 which we reviewed few days back except for the fact that it has 8.9-inch display compared to the 10.2-inch display found in S10. Another major difference is the battery capacity. While the S10 came with a 3-cell battery which barely lasted 2.5 hours, the S9e comes with extended battery, which claims to give you 6.5 hours. Here are some specs of it:

  • Atom N270
  • 1GB DDR2 RAM
  • Intel 945GSE
  • 160GB HDD
  • 8.9” WSVGA LED backlight LCD

It is cost around 320-euros.

Lenovo IdeaPad S10 having problems with the Fan?

Lenovo IdeaPad S10 having problems with the Fan?

Lenovo IdeaPad S10 is high on popularity list, but unfortunately not for the good things. The major complaint that we have come accross is that the fan in the unit constantly spins up and down. Now, you may wonder that this is a common phenomenon in notebooks and netbooks that the fan spins according to the processor utilization. But, in the Lenovo S10, the fan goes on full blast even if it is very cold and nothing is being done.

We have the Lenovo S10 review unit and we will be looking into this matter for sure. Stay tuned for the review, which will be out tomorrow or day after that.

How To: upgrade both HDD and RAM in Lenovo S10

How To: upgrade both HDD and RAM in Lenovo S10

I’ve been using the Lenovo S10 from the past couple of days and I am very impressed with the unit. Not only I’m impressed with the superb built quality, but also the software part for which I will write about in a day or two.

In this article, I will show you how easy it is to upgrade the HDD and RAM of the Lenovo S10. Unlike some Netbooks in the market (say, Acer Aspire One), you will not have to open the whole unit just to upgrade basic hardware like RAM or HDD. Folks at Lenovo has made it simple for the end user to easily upgrade the HDD or RAM, if he wishes to.

Here are the instructions:

Lenovo IdeaPad S20 – a 12-inch netbook in the works by Lenovo

Lenovo is planning to launch Ideapad S20, which is going to be a 12-inch netbook. By breaking the Intel’s 10-inch for netbooks, Lenovo will be deprived of the special price of the Intel Atom N280 processor. However, it would not make much of a difference as the Lenovo will have to pay a whopping $10 [...]
