Last week the Archos Arnova 8 went on sale in the US but even before the US release, hackers have already created a firmware so that you can add some features to the tablet that are not present in the current Archos Arnova 8 software One of these is the access to the Google Android Market. Just like other Archos Tablets, the Arnova 8 will include the third party application called AppslLib App Store since Google has some restrictions to particular Android tablets that do not meet the specific requirements.

The firmware present in the tablet is Android 2.1 and it is pretty much standard as with the other tablets. That means the other features that are present in the Android 2.2 will not be present in this tablet particularly Adobe Flash Support. With the root access offered by the new firmware, you might be able to operate some features and applications that won’t work normally with the 2.1 version. One of these features is the capacity to install applications into a removable SD Card instead of populating the main storage, making it easily useless. The hackers who did this firmware are also looking at updates for the Android 2.2. Be guided that this is only for Arnova 8 so do not use it for other Android tablets.
