Samsung Galaxy M51 is an excellent mid range smartphone for the year 2021. Priced under $400, the Galaxy M51 offers strong performance, and unmatched battery life.
Samsung Galaxy M51 comes with a 6.7 inch FHD+ display packing 1080×2400 pixels. The display has been given corning gorilla glass 3+ treatment. Powering M51 is a snapdragon 730G 8nm processor offering eight cores and Adreno 618 graphics card.
There are four cameras on its back with main camera packing whopping 64MP wide angle lens. There is additional 12MP ultrawide, 5MP macro and 5MP depth camera. It is capable of recording 4K video at 30FPS as well. On the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera.
Battery life is stellar on Samsung Galaxy M51, thanks to unmatched 7000mAh capacity. It offers 15W fast charging with its included charger. Reverse charging is also supported and that lets you charge other devices.
It scored 260,000 in AnTuTu and 1774 in Geekbench. This makes it almost as powerful as Galaxy S8, a top end smartphone from 2018 but without its atrocious battery life.
There is no wireless charging and there is no glass back. When you hold you can feel M51’s heft and heavy battery packed inside. Do I miss wireless charging? Yes, absolutely but I can live without it at this price tag. Same goes for glass back. While it feels good while holding, 99% use a plastic case anyway on their expensive smartphone. I am pretty sure they will appreciate its 2-3 day battery life more than glass back. You can easily squeeze 2 days with very heavy use.
I also loved its dual SIM support and dedicated micro SD card slot. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack which provides versatility. There is option to get 8GB RAM variant as well but I never felt the need of extra RAM. 6GB RAM is more than enough.
There is no Samsung DEX so there is no way to use that much RAM on your phone anyway.
