Unlockable Bootloader for the Motorola Xoom
Motorola revealed that it will be adding a Bootloader that you can unlock and re-lock. What this means for the developers is that they can get the very first tablet with the Android 3.0. They can they unlock the boot loader and get a deeper access to the settings. That means the developers can create custom ROM as well as other software tools for the Xoom. This is a very exciting frontier since what Motorola is doing right now is the exact opposite how their smart phones had their systems created. There is no Kernel access in the past so even if developers have some nice ideas; there are limitations to the changes that they can actually make. This means that the new tablet is more open for hackers and third party developers.
