Lenovo IdeaPad S540 and S340: new laptops with AMD Ryzen and Intel Comet Lake processors
The IdeaPad range has been consolidated for some time and is one of the most requested. Therefore, the brand has wanted to boost its sales by renewing what was offered by the previous version.
Lenovo IdeaPad S340 specifications
The new S340 will be offered in three colors and will keep the 13 inches in all of them, where we can also choose between three different processors, all within the tenth generation of Intel under the Comet Lake architecture, these being specifically: Intel Core i7-10510U, i7-i5-10210U and i3-10110U.
All versions will have Windows 10 Home installed as standard and will integrate the new low-cost NVIDIA graphics card as another novelty: GeForce MX250.

The memory section is also extensive, being able to choose between 4 GB, 8 GB and 16 GB, all modules under LPDDR3. By jumping to the storage section, we will obtain an M.2 PCIe SSD with capacities to choose between 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB.
The design of this S340 range is based on 13.3-inch laptops with IPS FHD screen, where its dimensions have been renewed to reach 306.6 x 202.3 x 19.9 mm in all its versions and weighing less of 1.3 Kg.
They will have WLAN 2 x 2 Wi-Fi 802.11 ac / a / b / g / n, Bluetooth 5.0, two USB 3.1 Gen 1, jack, an HDMI 1.4 and a DC-In Jack, not forgetting its 2 x 2 audio system Watt Dolby Audio Speaker System with integrated dual microphone.
Lenovo says the battery will last up to 8 hours, since it has a capacity of 42 Wh, being able to charge up to 80% of it in just one hour.
As we say, it will be offered in three colors: Platinum Gray, Liquid Blue and Sand Pink, but unfortunately they have not revealed prices and availability.
The range just above the IdeaPad S340 is updated in a big way, since Lenovo is going to bet on both Intel and AMD processors. Thus, we will have two versions differentiated by the final suffixes CML and API, which will correspond to Comet Lae and Zen + as main architectures.
As expected, both share some technical characteristics, while others are totally different, and the Lenovo IdeaPad S540-13CML will also arrive in three colors: Ice Blue, Light Silver and Frost White, where the customization will be quite high.
We can choose between four Intel 10th generation processors such as the i7-10710U (six cores), i7-10510U, i5-10210U and i3-10110U, where in all cases they will be accompanied by an NVIDIA GeForce MX250 and a 1- SLIM front camera MP 720p HD with TOF.
The memory options go through the choice of 8 GB or 16 GB, while the storage options are offered as a PCIe M.2 SSD of 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB, at the customer’s choice.
Like the S340 range, these S540 arrive with a size of 13.3 inches, but with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels under IPS technology.
The dimensions are extended to 308.3 x 211 x 14.8 mm, where the maximum weight will be 1.25 kg. In terms of connectivity, it has 2 x 2 Wi-Fi 802.11 ax / ac and 1 x 1 Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, two USB-C, a USB 3.1 Gen 1 and an audio jack.

The battery will be 56.5 Wh and will last 16 hours depending on the brand, where we can charge it up to 80% in one hour and in two to 100 percent.
As for the S540-13API version, it will arrive with the same general characteristics in terms of size, screen or connectivity, for example, where the highlights are the options of the processors.
And is that Lenovo will include an AMD Ryzen 7 3700U or a Ryzen 5 3500U as options to choose, where their iGPU will be the graphics cards of the equipment.
In the memory section we can select between 8 and 16 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz in dual channel, while in storage we can opt for a PCIe M.2 of 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB capacity.
Prices start at 799 dollars for the most basic model and its availability is set in October of this year.
