GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 2080 Xtreme: new graphics with 7 video outputs
GIGABYTE, through its gaming brand AORUS, has just presented its new graphics card AORUS GeForce RTX 2080 Xtreme. This new model has an oversized heatsink, compared to the reference model of NVIDIA, and up to a total of 7 video outputs, allowing greater flexibility of connection to the monitors for its users.
After the official launch of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 graphics cards and the release of the first analysis of these, many users feel somewhat disappointed. Not for the performance of graphics cards, which is higher than the current GeForce GTX core Pascal, but mainly, for its price, which has completely placed them out of reach of the vast majority of users’ pockets. This, in turn, has caused several users have opted to buy better a model of the previous generation (which, we believe, is part of the plan of NVIDIA to get rid of the huge inventory of these graphics that has the manufacturer).
Meanwhile, the assemblers are already taking out their models with customized cooling, as is the case with GIGABYTE with its AORUS GeForce RTX 2080 Xtreme. This new model of the manufacturer is characterized by the use of a heavier dissipator than the NVIDIA reference graphics, using three 100 mm diameter fans, to improve the cooling of this model, and to achieve, in theory, higher operating frequencies.
Perhaps, what can surprise us most about the new AORUS graphics is the huge number of video outputs that this new model incorporates. Up to seven of them have been incorporated: three HDMI, another three DisplayPort and a USB-C. It is also true that, despite this huge number of video outputs, only five of them can be used simultaneously: the three HDMI outputs, plus a DP and the USB-C port, or the three DP plus one HDMI plus the USB-C port. Even so, this provides a lot of flexibility for when users want to connect several monitors to their graphics card.
This new AORUS graphics card will have a metal backplate to protect the back of it, as well as a special coating of the PCB, which will prevent problems in the case of accumulation of dust or moisture on its surface. It also includes an irregular voltage supply detection system, which will warn its users that the voltage that the card is receiving is not the most adequate for its correct operation.
Finally, the fans of this new model have RGB lighting, whose colors and effects can be programmed by the users themselves, to get the most personalized experience possible.
