As more and more women opt to become working, the formal women wear market has seen an astronomical growth. Often, you see women dressed in amazingly trendy formal suits with band collar, stylish silhouettes, pockets and classic lapels.
Chief reason behind this is the fact women now care about how they look at the workplace. Women also want to be seen in formal western clothing as they stand toe-to-toe with men in work environments.
According to McKinsey’s report, India’s apparel market would be worth $59.3 billion by 2022. And while the apparel business is still largely unorganized, formal retail accounting is going to be ~45 percent by 2025.
At the time of writing, women formal wear market is driven by increasing pool of working women in developed and developing countries and it further boost the demand for women formals in the global market. The companies have started realizing the need of the hour and have shifted their focus on tapping the segment.
One such startup company is SALT Attire, whose CEO, Dipti Tolani, started an online portal that offers a wide array of professional, formal women wear. The portal also offers bespoke clothing, tailored to customer measurements, based on an on-demand manufacturing model.
