Belkin awarded sustainability initiative of year by business license group
Belkin is a pretty eco friendly company and they have surpassed worldwide goals for reducing electricity consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Back in 2009, the company had set a goal to reduce 25% worldwide electricity consumption by 2017 and they exceeded their goal by achieving 37% reducing in worldwide electricity consumption. They did this by upgrading to move efficient components and by installation of solar panels, establishment of EV charging stations in company parking lots, installation of motion sensor lighting in Belkin offices and distribution centers.
This is what Ernie Roberts, sustainability manager for the Belkin division had to say,
We recognize that our operations and services impact the environment. We are fundamentally driven to take as many measures as we can to reduce our impact.
We are honored to be recognized by the Business Intelligence Group for our efforts and it inspires us to continue surpassing the goals we set to reduce our carbon footprint.
Maria Jimenez, Chief Nominations Officer, Business Intelligence Group added,
We are proud to reward and recognize Belkin for their sustainability efforts. It was clear to our judges that their vision and strategy will continue to deliver results toward a cleaner, more sustainable world.
