Acer has churned out pair of two high end and mid-range gaming laptops in India. Called the Predator Helios 300 and Nitro 5, both laptops feature the latest Nvidia Pascal series graphics card which deliver desktop-grade performance. Prices start at 75000 rupees for the 1050Ti equipped Helios 300. The Helios 300 design is a more premium laptop with gaming centric design but the Nitro 5 is no slouch either.
Common specifications include i7-7700HQ 7th generation kabylake processor, 256GB/512GB SSD, 16GB RAM and red backlit keyboard. The Helios 300 has hybrid storage system consisting of additional 1000GB hard disk while the Nitro 5 is SSD only and comes with 512GB SSD. The Helios 300 has option of GTX 1050Ti or 1060 but the Nitro 5 has GTX 1050Ti option only.
At the heart of the Predator Helios 300 is an overclockable NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or 1050Ti GPU combined with a high-powered 7th Gen Intel Core i7 7700HQ or i5 processor 7300HQ for outstanding performance. All of this processing power is supported with up to 16GB of DDR4 memory Upgradable to 32GB , a speedy 256GB SATA SSD and a 1TB HDD. An access compartment doors on the bottom of the notebooks makes it easy to upgrade memory and storage components.
Gadgetmix has been told that the GTX 1080 version is in the tunnel and will be launched in coming months.
There are two AeroBlade 3D fans that are more than enough to keep the system run cool at all times. Both laptops come preloaded with Acer’s Predator Sense software that makes overclocking CPU and GPU piece of cake.
You can also use something like MSI Afterburner to mess around with the GPU clock cycles. The screen is full HD, IPS and has wide viewing angles for maximum comfort.
