Asus X505ZA cannot game but Asus India thinks it can – Asus X505ZA price in India: Asus X505ZA specifications and price

asus x505za india

A quick glance at Asus X505ZA specifications will make any serious gamer convince that it is not a gaming laptop. Even Asus knows this and they did not slap their ROG logo on it because they too know that Radeon Vega 8 is as bad as MX150 at gaming.

Asus X505ZA specifications

Processor –
AMD® Ryzen™ 3 2300U Processor, 2.0 GHz (2 M Cache, up to 3.4 GHz)
OS – Windows 10 Home
RAM – 4 GB Onboard Memory, 1 x SO-DIMM socket for expansion
Display – 15.6″ (16:9) LED backlit FHD (1920×1080) 60Hz Anti-Glare Panel with 45% NTSC
Graphics – AMD Radeon™ Vega 8 Graphics
Hard Drives – 500GB 5400RPM SATA HDD

Asus India begs to differ though and they tweeted out saying,

Get the power to do more with the new ASUS #VivoBook15X505, backed with latest AMD Ryzen processor in a light weight design & NanoEdge display with ultra-narrow bezels. This laptop sports an AMD Radeon Vega graphics card, so you can game. Get yours today.

That is a horrible advice for a gamer. This makes the Asus X505ZA even worse than the Asus X570ZD that was also launched at the same event in India today. At least, the Asus X570ZD donned an Nvidia GTX 1050 that is good at playing modern games at low settings but Radeon Vega 8 is outright horrible.

Pair that with an atrocious price tag and one can clearly see Asus X505ZA being a daylight robbery. It is a pity that it is being targeted at gamers by Asus India themselves.

Asus also had the guts to equip it with meager 4GB RAM and slow 500GB 5400RPM hard disk. Who sells a laptop with 4GB RAM and calls it a “gaming laptop”?

We really hope this is a terrible mistake from their PR end.

Note – it is a decent everyday laptop, but not a gaming laptop from any standpoint.
