ZTE shows off 5.7-inch HD android phablet featuring powerful quad-core Snapdragon 600 chip and a 13MP camera. Grand Memo is to be available in Q2.
ZTE is wowing everyone at the annual Mobile World Congress in Barcelona with their top tier flagship phone called Grand Memo. The dimensions are 159.9 x 82.6 x 8.5 mm (6.30 x 3.25 x 0.33 inch). That’s 8.5mm for LTE model.
The phablet features 5.7-inch TFT display with 720 × 1280 pixel 720p resolution with 258 ppi pixel density and 3,200mAh battery powering it all. Storage is 16 GB built in.
Under the hood ticking away is Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7GHz with Adreno 330 graphics with 2GB of RAM. There is a 720p 13 MP camera with auto-focus, panorama function and face detection at the back and 1MP front-facing camera. Memo has Turn-by-turn navigation and well as GPS.
As for software, Grand Memo runs Android with voice-response technology to make all commands safely using your voice. Dolby Digital Plus Surround makes this phablet into a fun entertainment center. This LTE may not be as fast as Huawei Ascend P2 (150 Mbit/s), (or at least it’s not advertised that way) but with 4G capable, it will hold it’s own in LTE Cat3 Downlink with speed of 100 Mbit/s.
ZTE’s He Shiyou offered,

ZTE is not just another Chinese price cutting junk maker. It hold number four in worlds smartphone market share and if you take just last quarter of 2012, then it is the third largest smartphone maker in the world. With Grand Memo smartphone ZTE clearly shows to the world that it can keep up with iPhone 5 and Galaxy Note II. According to engadget ZTE Grand Memo phablet will be available in Europe and China in second quarter. No word on pricing or US availability just yet.
