HP Slate Tablet – Everything known about it so far
HP Slate is the HP’s or shall we say, Microsoft’s answer to the Apple iSlate that will be revealed later this month. Being presented to the people as something that is more powerful than a phone and as powerful as a PC, this Slate from HP is perfect for reading and surfing the Internet.
The HP Slate comes with Windows 7 operating system, which comes with a pile of features meant for touchscreens. So using Windows 7 on a Slate Tablet should not be any issue. It supports multi-touch too. The Slate from HP comes with a variety of modes – Movie mode, eBook mode and PC mode.
In the eBook mode, one can use the HP Slate vertically for reading the text, just like in case of eReaders. PC mode will allow user to use it just like a normal computer. We are currently not sure what extra will be offered in Movie mode.
Design: There are no buttons in the front. Infact there is nothing on the front face of the device, not even a webcam for video calls. It is clear that HP wants a minimalistic look on their Slate tablet.
The HP Slate will be available at the end of 2010.
