Much like Acer, Asus, Apple and other companies Toshiba had jumped onto the promising ultrabooks bandwagon with their price conscious Portege Z835. It’s a start up line of ultra thin notebook run by 1.4 GHz, Core i3 processor with 13.3-inch display of 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. Toshiba Portege Ultrabook sells at BesBuy for $799.99 .

Best Buy used to have an exclusive right to sell these gorgeous machines, but no more. Toshiba is offering Protege Z830 and Z835 ultrabooks less the fingerprint reader on their website starting at $929.

Ultrabooks are becoming increasingly popular. The most prominent I guess would be MacBook Air, but now Consumer Electronics Show in Jnauary 2012 will reveal 30 to 50 new ultrabooks. Asus is majorly invested in this sector with five new ultrabooks, they like to call Zenbooks. Acer released it own Aspire S3, Lenovo has its ThinkPad X1 and The Verge reports Lenovo has another 13-inch premium ($1300 +) and 14-inch mainstream (cca $800 +) ultrabook planned for summer 2012 . Of course, there is Samsung series 9 ultrabooks. Fujitsu is apparently making their own thins as well.

Intel is committed to producing 22nm processors Ivy Bridge which Otellini and Intel will shocase in Las Vegas this winter.
