EKing MID now in slider form factor

EKing is soon going to debut its new MID in the market that sports a side-slide form factor. The MID currently runs Windows XP, but can run Windows 7, if that is what you want. Brimming with several connectivity options like 3G, WCDMA, CDMA2000, it is equipped with a nice 5-inch display packing 1024×600 pixels and that means the display will be ultra-sharp.

Meet the Motom M7 MID from China that is powered by the Intel Z510 processor that runs at 1.1GHz. This is a typical slate, which means that there is no keyboard and you will have to rely 100% on the on-screen keyboard or the bundled hand-writing recognition software to input data.

Other specs include a 7-inch 1024×600 touchscreen, 1GB RAM, 32GB SSD, 1.3 mega-pixel camera, 2 USB ports and a 4800mAh battery to power the unit. Interestingly, there  is a tiny touchpad below the screen to control the mouse pointer. No words on its price and availability in US or EU.

Midbbs has got hold of the slick S515 MID from Eking. This MID is x86-based which is good for many of us who like to change operating system from time-to-time. Eking is supplying it with Windows XP pre-loaded. As mentioned earlier, it is being retailed at $720.

The Eking uses same tile mechanism that was first used in HTC TYTN II and then later in Nokia N97.

The Eking S515 uses Atom Z515 processor, 1GB RAM; comes with 5.4-inch WVGA display. It has 16GB SSD for storage that is expandable via micro-SD cards. There is also a micro-USB port at the bottom.

Viewsonic has unveiled a MID running Windows XP. x86-MIDs have always enticed us as it broadens the choice of operating system for the end users. This MID, known as the Viewsonic N01 MID features a 7-inch display; Atom Z510 processor that runs at 1.1GHz. It has 1GB RAM and 10GB SSD for storing data.

It has two cameras, one in the front and one at the back. There is an optical pointer on the right side of the display. There are left and right click buttons on the left side of the display. There is also an areial for TV reception

A large 10.2” slate tablet netbook was observed at Cloned in China, by Great Loong Brother and is being promoted as “Apple Style” tablet. It runs XP and uses Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB hard disk and has built-in WiFi

It has a pathetic battery life of just 1.5 hours. Price: $338

FlatOak is brand new company that came into existence in April 2009. They have launched a MID that has Intel Atom CPU, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth. It is not known which Atom CPU is being used in the FlatOak MID. It is not known when it will be available in the Japan or in rest of the world. It runs Windows XP.

Today, the Digicube Z8 MID was silently (and officially) launched. It has an Intel Atom Z series CPU with US15W chipset, 1GB RAM, 16GB SSD and has built-in 3G module which will let you use your 3G SIM to enjoy broadband speeds on-the-move.

The best feature of this little MID is that it is based on x86-hardware which means that in theory, it can run any x86-compatible OS out there. For the time being, it will be sold with tried and tested Windows XP OS. But, we are sure that you won’t face much problems to get Windows 7 working on this little thing. Its 5-inch display has WVGA resolution (800×480) and weighs just 420gm, that too with its 1800mAh battery included

It has left and right click buttons flanked on the left side of the display. Speakers are at the back of the unit, just like cellphones.
