J-COM MID runs Windows Phone OS

J-COM is making another foray into the MID market by its “MID”. Yes, that is what the company calls it – J-COM MID. The MID runs on Windows Phone OS and features a big 5-inch WVGA display. Powered by Marvell 806MHz processor, it comes with 2400mAh battery. There is no information on its RAM, storage or price

Since it has an earpiece and microphone, it can be used as a phone too, but be prepared to look like an idiot when you hold the phone to your head to take or make a call.

KK U1000 Smartbook Phone – Runs Windows Mobile

Here is a 5-inch Smartbook/MID, from a company called KK. The KK U1000 runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS and has a WVGA display. It uses Marvell PXA310 processor that runs at 624MHz.

It comes packed with a lot of wireless radios – WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS and Quad-Band Phone radio. There is a 3.2MP camera at the back.

The U1000 has a custom 3D UI for finger friendly navigation. Battery capacity is 1900mAh which is pretty good for an ARM device. For storage, you get meager 256MB, but that can be expandable via micro-SD card (upto 32GB). For running apps, you get 128MB that should be enough for running any Windows Mobile app out there.

Using Windows Mobile on a 5-inch screen is surely going to be a bit of fun. On a serious note, the whole UI will suddenly become much more finger friendly than before.

Opera Mobile 10 is the only reason that Windows Phones can be considered as MIDs. IE Mobile, that comes by default on the Windows Phones, is downright pathetic and awful to use.
