Looks like XP is immortal! We thought that the XP would finally meet its fate on Oct 22. After netbooks, it is now turn for the phones to get equipped with XP.Meet the phone powered by AMD Super Mobile CPU. It has GSM, GPRS, EDGE and 3G too. For storage, you can get upto 64GB of SSD storage which would certainly make the current iPhone 3GS owners a bit angry. Acer's one of the best selling netbooks: Aspire D250 has now officially received the Windows 7 upgrade, at least in Japan. The Acer Aspire one D250 has an Intel Atom N280 @ clock speed of 1.6GHz. It is equipped with 10.1-inch screen that bears a high resolution: 1280x720. There are few unfortunate and sorry people whose Aspire 751H came loaded with the Windows Vista, which is certainly not the OS of choice for netbooks. For those people with XP-running 751H are still pretty satisfied as it works pretty decent, although not as good as netbooks that come with Atom N280 processors. Windows 7 is reported to be running as good as XP and brings lots of eye candy and useful features to your netbook.Windows 7 has been tried and tested on the Acer Aspire 751H and it runs it really nicely. After delaying it so many times, ASUS Eee Keyboard will finally ship to Europe at the end of October for 499 Euros. The unique ASUS Eee Keyboard is essentially a netbook wrapped and packed into a keyboard chassis and with a small WVGA touchscreen display. It comes with an Atom N270 Processor, VGA and HDMI out. For storage, you get a tiny 16GB SSD.It also has3 USB 2.0 ports, WiFi and Bluetooth and it runs Windows XP Home. Its dimension are 145 x 425 x 24.4 mm and weighs 1.1 kg. ASUS claims that it would be able to give you nearly 4 hours of battery life which is commendable considering how tiny this thing is! The keyboard has backlight and you will have no problems working on it in the dark.The only thing not to like about the EEE keyboard is the fact that it costs way too much for an Atom-powered device. If the ASUS can bring the price down to something like 399 Euros, it will make it very tempting for the normal consumer.

AOCOS shows off a bunch of MIDs

In a recent MID conference, AOCOS displayed numerous MIDs (T6 series, T8 series, X1/X2/X3 series, A4/A4L, M50, M51, M52, M53 and T500) of similar form factors. All of them have 5-inch screen, WVGA display, Video player and WiFi except for the AOCOS T7 and X7 which sport 7-inch screen and have higher resolution as compared to the rest of the models.We will post updates as we get more information about these MIDs.

ViewSonic, popular for its monitors has introduced new two netbooks - VNB100 and VNB101. Both netbook are very different in term of design. The VNB100 is available in a variety of colors like - black, white, yellow, and hot lady color, pink. The VBN101 will available in black, red and champagne and will carry a special coating that protects it from spills and wear and tear.VNB100 will come with an 10.2-inch screen, an Intel Atom N270, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, 1.3MP webcam, WiFi, 3 USB ports and ExpressCard 34 slot. The VNB101 will be a little more costly than VNB100 because of its luxury netbook feel (like ASUS EEE S101). The VNB101 boasts of these specs – Intel Atom N280 CPU, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 10.2-inch display, 0.3 webcam, memory card reader, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 2 USB ports and a Li-Polymer battery. BenQ Joybook Lite 121 Eco to be launched in China and Thailand

BenQ is going to launch an 11.6-inch mini notebook, Joybook Lite 121 Eco. Right now, BenQ has plans to launch it in only China and Thailand. What makes the Lite 121 Eco different from other netbooks is that it comes with 532GB of space (500GB HDD+32GB SSD). It comes with a 6-cell battery, which BenQ claims to give you 9.5 hours of juice. The Joybook comes with an Intel Atom Z520 CPU, which is very power frugal, a 1366 x 768 pixel display and 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, a 1.3MP webcam, VGA output, and 3 USB ports. It has a starting price of around $525.

Bangu Baijian introduces convertible netbook – bigger version of EEE T91

Bangu Baijian has unveiled convertible netbook that comes with a touchscreen display. This unit will be launched in US with a reasonable price of about $440. It has 10.2-inch display which is commonly found in an average netbook. It comes with the (very) familiar 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB HDD. It sports 2 USB ports, a VGA ports, SDHC card reader and an Ethernet jack as-well-as 802.11b/g WiFi. You can get one with Bluetooth too.Specs-wise and features-wise, this Bangu Baijian convertible netbook looks very familiar to the ASUS EEE T91, which sports an 8.9-inch display instead of 10.2-inch display. However, ASUS has done a great job of adding useful utilities to utilize the touchscreen feature. We are right now not aware of any such (useful) utilities for the Bangu netbook

Archos 10 now with Ubuntu Linux, 500 GB Hard Disk and 2GB RAM

Archos has unveiled a special edition of its Archos 10 netbook that runs Ubuntu 9.04 Linux. Archos wants its new netbook to be a little different from rest of the netbooks by not only bundling it with different OS, but also equipping it with 2GB of RAM, and a 500GB HDD! That is a lot of storage to store your media.All Archos 10 models come with an 10.2 inch 1024 x 600 pixel display, a 1.3MP camera, 802.11b/g WiFI, 3 USB ports, and 6 cell battery. It weighs 2.9 pounds and measures 10.2" x 7.4" x 1.1". Best point to note is that Archos has kept the price same for both Windows and Linux models: 375 eurosMost of the traditional netbooks run Windows XP; come with 160GB HDD and 1GB RAM and it is definitely a good strategy by Archos to bundle their netbook with 500GB HDD and 2GB RAM.

ASUS EEE PC 1101HA coming to European continent soon!

We have mentioned about this 11.6-inch netbook earlier too, which is going to be the first 11.6-inch netbook by ASUS. It will cost you around 399 Euros ($560). Let's take a quick glance at its specifications:

Again, this is plagued with the atrocious Z520 processor, which just sucks when it comes to performance. I had reviewed Acer Aspire 751 a couple of weeks back, which sported the same processor and the performance was not at all 'ground-breaking'. Infact, it felt noticeably slower than Atom N270/N280 which runs at a clock speed of 1.6GHz.

Medion launches Akoya E1311 and Akoya E1315

Medion today launched Akoya E1311 and E1315 mini-laptops. Both come with 11.6 inch display, AMD Neo CPU, ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 graphics. Rest of its specifications are pretty much netbook-ish:160GB hard drive, 1GB RAM, WiFi and BT. It weights around 1.5kg, which makes it a pretty hefty mobile computer. The Akoya E1315 is similar ot Akoya E1311, but comes with a built-in 3G modem.It supports HDMI too. It will sold for around $570 (400 euros).

Year 2010 is surely going to be very exciting as we are going to see a slew of netbooks based on Android (mobile) OS. At first, we heard rumors that ASUS won't be able to get their Android Netbooks out this year. But it is pretty much confirmed that they will be launching an Android-based netbook at the end of this year.ASUS will be producing an Android netbook which won't have an Intel chip. Instead, it will come with a Snapdragon processor whose clock speed is mere 1 GHz. This new chip will include a all-band 3G radio. It will support 720p video too! Of course, it comes with WiFi and built-in GPS.

MSI U200 launched, another 12-inch netbook

After 10-inch netbooks, 12-inch netbooks are on rage right now. MSI U200 is decent looking netbook, which comes with an impressive resolution: 1366 x 768. You do not see that resolution on a netbook often. Rest of its specs are pretty much netbook-ish:GMA 4500M integrated graphics, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, 2GB of DDR2 memory, and 250GB HDD. It weighs 1.4kg and comes with a 3-cell battery. There is no information on the price as of nowI love the fact that it comes with such a decent resolution, perfect for doing stuff which requires high resolution such as running Visual Studio. Also, 2GB RAM should make processing even more smooth.
