We should not be surprised to see HP bringing out a tablet running WebOS, right? After all, what else do you expect from a $1.2 billion deal. Examiner is reporting that HP is already busily engrossed in a MID/tablet that runs WebOS, that currently runs on Palm Pre Smartphone.

It is being reported that the Hurricane will hit the market shelves in Q3 2010.

According to the online sources, HP is not ‘satisfied’ with the Windows 7 on a tablet and has knifed the project. Reason – Atom processors are too power hungry to be used on a slate. This means that HP will be using ARM-based processors that are much more power-frugal and efficient than the Intel Atom processors.

Not using Intel processor also rules out the possibility to run Windows 7 OS. This implies HP is cooking-up a WebOS tablet. Otherwise, why would HP spend $1.2billion on a hopeless company, right?

JT Wang, Chairman of Acer believes that HP would not only harness Palm for smartphone development, but also for MIDs and Tablets, which if you ask us makes sense, because WebOS’ implementation of multitasking is very smooth and efficient. This means that we may see a WebOS version of the HP Slate as the battery life is not that great under Windows 7.
