We are not changing niches anytime soon. The reason why Robovie got mentioned on gadgetmix.com is the fact that this robo 'netbook' is powered by an Atom processor. Huh? This is actually not a robot, but a robot with netbook innards. It comes with an Intel Atom Z530 processor that runs at 1.6Hz, slightly faster than Z520 that comes in entry-level VAIO P (review). For OS, you can install either of these four operating systems: Windows XP, Vista, 7 or Linux.A webcam resides in place of its 'eyes'. It has 2 USB ports, LAN and VGA out. It is powered by a 2000mAh battery and it weighs 2.2kg. It is being priced at $4500 (including tax) (388800 yen!), it is made to burn a real good hole in your pocket. The only thing that is robot-like in this machine is the fact that you can program its legs. For that you must use Windows as Linux is not supported. Its legs has high maneuverability and can adjust its height by bending his legs.

Gateway LT2016U coming to Verizon network

NetBook

news

Gateway LT2016U

gateway verizon netbook

mail

subscription plan

verizon

verizon gateway netbook

verizon netbook

verizon network

webcam

windows xp

windows xp home

Gateway LT2016U will be released soon on the Verizon network. Not surprisingly, Sony is referring the VAIO W as "Internet Book" as Sony hates the word 'netbook'. When the VAIO P was launched, Sony emphasized on the fact that VAIO P was not a netbook as it offered *better* features than the netbooks around. However, same cannot be said about their new netbook as it sports standard netbook specs (except for its high resolution screen).Specifications:-

10.1-inch LCD (1366×768)

Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz

1GB RAM

160GB HDD

GMA 950

W-LAN

webcam

Bluetooth

Windows XP Home Edition

3.5-hour battery pack

267.8mmx27.5mx179.6mm

Sony has used the same keyboard that it uses in its latest VAIOs: chiclet-style keyboard, which is nice thing to know. It has made its debut in Japan and will soon be launched in other parts of the world. Expect the price to be around $630, which is around $200 than the other netbooks with similar specs.
