SmarTone Vodafone rolls out Vitesse netbook in Hong Kong

SmarTone Vodafone has announced its own 10-inch netbook, Vitesse. The Vitesse will be available for free to customers with 2 years wireless broadband service plan. The netbook comes with an 10.1-inch glossy screen, 1024 x 600 display. It has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB SSD. It comes with a 3 cell battery 1800mAh, which should give you 1.5-2 hours of run time.

Commentary: It is pity that most of the wireless broadband service providers equip ‘their’ netbooks with 3-cell batteries which do not last for more than 2 hours on a single charge, that basically destroys the main purpose of carrying a netbooks: ability to do serious work while on the go.
