Viliv, a Korean UMPC/MID manufacture is all set to launch the much-anticipated N5 mini-computer than runs Windows 7 OS. It comes with a very power-frugal (but slow) Atom Z520 1.3GHz processor and runs Windows 7 Starter, which means none of those amazing touchscreen goodies will be available on the device.
Here is a rundown of its specs:

- 4.8” WSVGA (1024×600) Touch screen
- 32GB SSD
- 1GB DDR2 SDRAM 533Mhz
- Wi-Fi/ Bluetooth 2.0/ HSPA/TD-SCDMA/EVDO/WiMAX Connectivity
- GPS
- 1.3M Pixel Camera

Viliv N5 should be out in a month with an expected price of around 500 dollars, which is too much for such an underpowered device.
Viliv adds Windows 7 Starter option to N5 model
Viliv is now offering its N5 model with Windows 7 Starter OS. The specs, compared to the Home Premium version have not undergone any change. Tipping the scale at 388gm, the Viliv N5 comes with a 4.8-inch 1024×600 display, QWERTY keyboard, 64GB SSD, 1GB RAM, Intel Atom Z520 1.3GHz processor and Intel US15W chipset. It is one of few devices out there to sport such a high resolution display.
It somehow manages to pack in a USB 2.0 port, Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, 1.3MP webcam, microphone and headphone jack. Viliv claims 6 hours of runtime with normal use or 4 hours with video playback. Available for 855 dollars (77,800 Yen)
Viliv N5
Viliv N5 is a clamshell MID that is outfitted with an 4.8-inch display with a very fine 1024×600 pixel display. Even though it is so small, measuring mere 172(W) x 86(L) x 25(H)mm and weighing just under 400gm, it manages to pack-in 2 USB ports, out of which one can be used for transferring data and another that can act as a normal USB port, which means that you can connect for using HDDs, flash drives, printers and so on.
Viliv N5 launch delayed
Viliv’s newest MID/tiny netbook, the N5 has been pushed back further to the month of June (2010). Folks at crunchgear were not too pleased with the Viliv N5’s built-quality and it felt breakable.
Specifications – 4.8-inch 1024×600 display, 1GB RAM, 32GB SSD, Windows 7 Home Premium, Intel Atom Z520 processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HSPA, EVGA, WiMax and a 1.3 mega-pixel webcam
Viliv N5
Looks like Viliv is working on a UMID M2 style MID with a 4.8-inch screen. Not a wealth of information is known about this device, but all that is known so far about it is that it comes with a 4.8-inch touchscreen display with 1024×600 resolution.
It runs on Intel Atom processor and has all the modern wireless radios – WiFi, 3G and GPS.
Since it runs on an Atom processor, it will likely be running Windows 7 OS. Let’s hope folks at Viliv do not go in for the Starter edition as we would certainly want to enjoy all the touchscreen features of the Windows 7.
