VIA C7-powered Handii BC9 tablet
Handii BC9 is a new 8.9-inch tablet PC yearning to claim some fame in the over-saturated tablet market. It is powered by the VIA C7 1.2GHz processor and comes with 1GB RAM, 32GB SSD and built-in 3G mobile broadband. Other standard features include Wi-Fi, Ethernet, 2x USB 2.0 ports, accelerometer and VGA output port.
Available in two versions:
- 578 dollars for non-3G version
- 650 dollars for 3G version
It is going to be very touch to sell one of these for sure since the price is much more than the entry-level iPad.

VIA $100 Tablet
Forget $100 netbook (this and this) or $100 nettop – Via is all set to release a tablet that would cost you mere $100. The tablet is expected to be shipped to US in the H2 2010. VIA says they will be offering 5 models – cheapest to cost $100 and the top end to retail at $150. All the tablets will run Google Android OS.
Let us hope that they all run the latest Android 2.2 which brings a heap of improvements over the earlier versions including the ability to install apps on to the storage card.

Adesun AD-708 VIA-based tablet from Shenzhen runs Windows XP
New 7-inch tablet AD-708 by Adesun manufacturer from Shenzhen is based on VIA’s x86 architecture and can run Windows XP, It is also being offered with Windows Vista and Linux as OS. It measures 200×121.5×35mm and is available in two versions: basic and delux version. The basic versions has 512MB memory, 8GB SSD and a 3200mAh battery, while the delux version has 16GB SSD,1GB memory, 6400mAh battery, 2GB SD card, and built-in GPS receiver.
The rest of the specs are common like both are powered by a same VIA C7M processor (that runs @ 1.2GHz), G-sensor, an 7-inch 800×480 WVGA touchscreen display, Wi-Fi b/g connectivity, 2 USB 2.0 ports, Bluetooth, VGA port and SD card reader. The basic version is for about $293, whereas the delux version for about $441 USD.
