Embryo is very soon going to unveil its VIA-powered netbook. Before you get too excited, this is NOT using the Via’s Nano processor. Instead, it is equipped with something that is not famous for performance: the VIA C7 CPU.

This machine has a 10.2-inch display and its expected price is going to be $180. On a funny note, just look where its charging port is!

There is a new 11.6-inch recently unveiled by the VIA called the eNote Turnkey Solution. This netbook comes with a VIA Nano (1.3GHz) processor and VIA Chrome9 Graphic chipset that is HD capable. It has an 11.6-inch display with1366 x 768 resolution. Other specs are standard.

It is possible to get one with 2GB RAM too. This netbook won’t be sold by the VIA directly. It may be ordered by the OEMs. They can configure it with WiMAX, HSDPA or EVDO modules. There is wide choice to choose between operating systems too, including Linux.

The only thing not to like about this netbook is its small battery having capacity of just 2600mAh. Its weight is 1.3kg.

Samsung NC20 VIA powered netbook now available

If you still consider a 12-inch notebook-size netbook portable, then you will find this one interesting. Samsung NC20, powered by VIA Nano processor is now available at newegg at $549.

It comes with Windows XP home edition, 1GB RAM and 160 GB HDD. The VIA Nano processor is clocked to run at 1.3GHz. It runs at notebook-ish resolution (1280 x 800) and comes with a 6-cell li-ion battery.
