SONY VAIO P signature collection – A $2000 GLOSSY BLACK VAIO P!
SONY has launched “Signature Collection” for its VAIO P series, which comes with a 1.86GHz Intel Atom CPU, 256GB SSD drive and Windows Vista Home Premium. Price is not at all pocket friendly. This signature VAIO P will cost you $2000, which is way too much for a netbook! There are only 1000 such units to be made. So, better hurry if you want one of these glorified netbooks.
..and you though that the original VAIO P was expensive?

SONY VAIO P now available in new colors
Sony Japan is now offering even more colors to already colorful lineup of VAIO P. Earlier, it was available in onyx black, garnet red, peridot green, and crystal white. Now, you can also get pyrite gold, frozen white, mesh garnet, layered peridot, and a dark brown keyboard to match those colors. Have a tough time deciding the color for your VAIO!

SONY indirectly admits poor performance of VAIO P, now offering Windows XP as an option
We posted an article “Top 10 reasons you should NOT get a SONY VAIO P” nearly a month back and it received a lot of heat from the people. We concentrated on the fact that even a $300 netbook can outperform a VAIO P any day in any kind of task and asking $1000 for such a poorly performing product is just not justifiable.
The main culprit behind its poor performance is the big and bulky Windows Vista OS. Some people suggested us to install Windows 7, but we won’t do that. Reason? We can not recommend BETA software or a software which is still in its RC stage to the users. Now, it seems that someone at SONY has finally used a VAIO P and has realized how pathetic its performance actually is. SONY has now finally announced the availability of a new VAIO P model, P50, which will be come with a much lighter Windows XP OS instead of Windows Vista.
This also means a great news for the rest of VAIO P community as the users running Vista will be able to get access to the Windows XP drivers. Windows XP will surely make everything more usable and stable on the VAIO P.

Meet the Sony VAIO P’s ugly brother
Looks like, folks at Lenovo are very busy working on a new netbook, which looks a lot like SONY VAIO P netbook. The screen seems to carry some extra wide resolution, which looks much wider than the VAIO P. Just like VAIO P, it supports a nice keyboard to type upon.
I just don’t understand the utility of the extra-wide screens possessed by the VAIO P and this Lenovo netbook. The main use of the netbooks is web-surfing and most of the websites are optimized for 1024 x 600(or 768) resolution. The extra resolution just results in blank space around the webpage.
No information about the specifications is known at this point.
