Currently, the netbook vendors have to pay just $25 for each XP license. And there are reasons why Windows 7 won't be offered to N270 netbook users. Microsoft will be charging $45 per license for Windows 7 and thus, vendors will be forced to increase the cost of the netbook. If they keep the prices same, it may hurt the profits.Right now, plans are to introduce Windows 7 to the netbooks that will be equipped with Atom N450 processor, which will be introduced in the month of October this year.Although, I'm sure that there are many of us who are just not bothered whether our netbook vendors give us the option to upgrade to Windows 7 till we are able to get everything working ourselves.

Eee PC 1000HE BIOS update for better video

NetBook

asus

asus bios update

asus eee 1000he

ASUS EEE PC 1000HE

better

better video

bios

DOLBY

eee

Hulu

memory

Netflix

sound

upgrade

video

viewing

Asus recently created a new BIOS update which is must have for those watching videos often on their Eee PC 1000HE. User reports suggest that the new upgrade frees up some valuable memory from the netbook when playing video, thus giving a slightly better viewing of high-definition videos. It also improves gaming display and other applications which require heavy graphic capabilities. Moreover, you may overclock the 1000HE at 1.9GHz, which will enable you to watch Hulu, Netflix and YouTube videos better than it was with the old BIOS and regular settings. However, before you consider the update, you should know that doing so would remove your 1000HE's support for DOLBY digital sound. So, its a decision to choose sound over audio.READ our EEE 1000HE review

HP MINI 2140 HD pictures

NetBook

1366 x 768

high resolution

hp mini

HP Mini 2140

HP Mini 2140 Review

upgrade

HP recently released the 1366 x 768 resolution version of HP Mini 2140.
