Moblin 2.0 BETA officially released – Tailormade for Netbooks

Moblin.org has officially released Mobile 2.0 BETA. The Moblin OS is tailor-made for Atom-powered netbooks.

The best part about Moblin is that it is Open-Source version of Linux and can be used with almost any processor. The Moblin is based on Fedora-based Linux. The Moblin 2.0 OS includes Firefox, Open Office, GIMP and Skype.

Unlike Ubuntu Netbook Remix, which supports only 1024 x 600 resolution, the Moblin 2.0 OS supports upto 1920 x 1200 resolution. The director of Intel’s Open Source Technology Center says,

We would like to invite and encourage everyone to test the beta. We feel the code has reached a level where both developers and enthusiasts can play with it. While fine tuning, bug fixing, and polishing is ongoing, so is performance improvement, all of which you should start seeing rolled into the weekly builds.

Twitter fans, there is now one more way to do twit-ing. Via Skype! All you have to do is: log-in to your Skype add twitter4skype as contact start a text chat and type /account (press shift+enter) YourSkypeName (press shift+enter) YourSkypePassword you’ll get a confirmation message after that Here is a screenshot to help you :)
