Since the MID is based on x86 platform, it is able to run Windows XP pretty nicely. The BenQ comes with an 4.8-inch display and will retail around $424 (NT$13,990). These new netbooks will be shipped to the Chinese Telecom providers in the end  of month of May. Unlike many other companies which just sell rebranded products of popular netbook manufactures like MSI, the Casing Macron will be building the netbook using in-house components. This include cases, coolers and power supplies, which will help them to reduce the overall cost of the netbook.<strong>Commentary:</strong> They have been selling just 7-inch models so far. Resistive touch screen makers like <em>Mildex Optical</em> will also start production to give some competition to the capacitive screen manufactures.Windows 7 will probably be launched later this year (or early next year) and most of the netbook manufactures will FINALLY make switch from Windows XP to Windows 7.
