Until now, all the EEE PCs have come with matte display. I have always loved matte screens as it allows me work inside my office as-well-as on the road too. Glossy displays, although look very pretty are a nightmare to work with in the direct sunlight or bulb.If you have ever seen HP Mini 1000 or any of the mininotes from HP in person, then you will name ASUS as the copycat as it copied the recessed hinge design of the HP Minis netbooks and implemented it in the EEE 1008HA. But who cares? We are happy with the design as it has considerably helped in reducing the height of the design.Thoughts:If you have been happy with your notebook with glossy display and you are fine with them even while working outdoors, you should then have no problem with the EEE 1008HA. Personally, I would still prefer matte displays.

iUnika GYY – Low-cost solar powered netbook

NetBook

128mb ram

400mhz processor

chargers

Cost

display

gyy

iUnika

iUnuika

iUnuika gyy

linux

month of june

proprietary version

ram 128mb

shelves

solar energy

solar powered

ssd

sunlight

wvga

Netbooks going eco-friendly! That is something we do not hear everyday. Do we? iUnika has launched a netbook that is powered by solar energy, the iUnika GYY. The netbooks weighs just 700gm and runs some proprietary version of linux on its 400MHz processor. It comes with a WVGA (800 x 480) 8-inch display. It uses 64GB SSD for storing your data and comes with meager 128MB RAM. 128MB RAM may seem low, but since it running not a bulky OS, we are not complaining. Cost? Just 160-euros and hitting the shelves in the month of June.No need to carry portable chargers! Charge on the go, thanks to the wonderful sunlight!
