Sprint to offer broardband-enabled netbooks in 5 cities
Sprint soon will be the latest US wireless carrier that will sell wireless broadband-enabled netbooks. The company has joined hands with Best Buy and HP this summer only, where they offered HP Mini 110 for $0.99 (for a contract of 2 year). But apparently, this offer is not valid now.
This program will be available starting from November 1 in Baltimore, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Phoenix and San Francisco. Holistic launch depends on the success of trial, which would be this year or the coming year.
Rumor has it that Dell Mini 10 will be offered to the customers for $199 ($100 mail-in rebate) and $60/month. Sounds rather expensive to us!

Sprint offering 99-cent netbook with mobile broadband
When the AT&T announced that they will be selling an Acer Aspire One netbook for just $80, we knew that Sprint is not going to sit idle. Sprint is now offering you a netbook for $0.99, which is basically a rebranded HP Mini 1000 netbook under the name of Compaq 1040DX. The only difference from the standard model is the use of EVDO module in the Sprint netbook.
There is catch though. You have enroll yourself under a TWO YEAR CONTRACT that will cost you $60 per month.
