Splashtop moves to MeeGo

SplashTop is a near instant boot OS that has proven popular among various notebook manufactures that include companies like Asus, Dell, Sony, Lenovo and so on. DeviceVM, the company behind SplashTop has announced that the company has now ported the quick boot OS to MeeGo platform.

This also gives SplashTop devices access to the Intel AppUp Store that allows the users to download, install and run myriad of apps. Even though OEMs have already been given access to the MeeGo’s SplashTop technology, it will still take some time for the manufactures to churn-out devices running this newest version of SplashTop

LG X120 Netbook includes instant-on!

We have been very harsh over this little netbook from LG, which made it to US just last week. Even though it has monotonous specs, it includes something that most of the netbooks still not come with: Instant On OS. LG has included its splashtop instant on OS in this netbook that promises to get you online in 5 seconds!

That, however, does not work with its 3G module though.
