MSI outs X-Slim X350, updated version of MSI X340

MSI rolled out an updated version of X-Slim X340 thin and light notebook, named X350. X350 is just the more developed version of MSI X340. It comes equipped with the new dual-core CPU. Again, just like MSI X600 Pro, its CULV processor’s name is not disclosed. For storage, you get to choose between 320GB or 500GB.

It supports an 13.4-inch LED panel with 1366×768 display, 2GB RAM, Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics, 1.3MP webcam, Ethernet. It comes with a 4-cell battery, but you go for the 8-cell battery if you wish to.

The X350 features the ultra-slim design and beautiful lines that are the hallmark of the X-Slim series, creating a sense of warmth and a fashionable urban vibe. The X350 weight just 1.5 kg, and is less than one inch thick; this laptop has none of the cold, off-putting bulk of traditional notebook PCs.

MSI X400 and MSI X610 officially announced – Expensive!

MSI has made public its two new X-Slim series notebooks, one of which is based on CULV platform and other is based on AMD NEO platform. The smallest 14-incher in the market, the X400 uses CULV processor and weighs 1.5 kg. It has depth under an inch at its waistline. Oddly enough, it took MSI nearly 4 months to make it official!

The X400 will ship in two SKUs. The entry level version is based on Intel’s SU2700 CULV CPU; upto 2GB RAM and 320GB hard disk drive. A more powerful version will be equipped with Intel SU3500 processor and will feature a massive 500GB hard drive. It will come with a 4-cell battery. You can also opt for 8-cell battery, which we won’t recommend as the main purpose of buying X400 would be keeping a slim profile. It will cost you around £499 for the lower end model and £569 for the higher end model.

The AMD Neo-based 15.6-inch X610 has also been made official, which comes with an Athlon Neo MV-40 clocked at 1.6GHz and features ATi Radeon HD4330 discrete graphics with 512MB of memory. You get the option to choose between 320GB, 500GB or 640GB hard drive and 2GB or 4GB of RAM. No info on its pricing.

MSI to use AMD Neo processor for its X-Slim series

MSI to use AMD Neo processor for its X-Slim series

MSI’s AMD-based X-Slim X610 has not hit the market yet, but in Russia, couple of individuals were able to get their hands on it. A news which broke up back in May says that MSI will start using AMD Neo chips in some X-Slim series models in Q3. Sadly, MSI has decided to stick to larger X-Slim models, the 14-inch X410 and the 15.6-inch X600.

The X610 is somewhat like the CULV-based X600. For instance, it shares the same chassis and majority of the specs have remained unchanged, like 4GB of memory, 250GB of storage and Radeon HD 4330 discrete graphics with 512MB of memory.

The X610 has AMD’s Athlon MV-40 at 1.6GHz, its slower than the Intel Core 2 Solo SU3500 that runs at 1.4GHz. We are expecting the price to be cheaper than the €699 Intel version
