Hynix announces second generation 1 GB DDR3 chips
Hynix has announced 2nd generation 1GB DDR3 chips (using 54nm process technology) that operate at 1.5V. It has 30% less power consumption than the previous generation. Hynix will commence mass production later this month.

SONY VAIO P Mark 2 – Second generation VAIO P
Sony is pretty much satisfied by the overall response of VAIO P and is now working on its new version. There is not much known about it other than the fact that it will make its debut at the end of this year. However, it should come with a faster Atom processor and Windows 7, which has been getting “thumbs up” from a lot of tech journalists from all around the world.
To be frank, we were not hugely impressed by the VAIO P ever. It is slow, runs the bulky Vista and crams too many pixels into its small frame to be considered as useful as a netbook.

OLPC Netbook price drop – now costs only $180
The one-laptop-per-child (OLPC)’s price has been lowered to $180. Although, not exactly $100 as it was originally rumored to, any price reduction is highly appreciated (from $204 to $180). Negroponte is going to roll out its next version of the OLPC netbook, which will sport a dualscreen with virtual keyboard on which it would be interesting to see how easy it is to type on the virtual keyboard.
