AIS RT10IA8M-U1/LC – Rugged Tablet PC with netbook innards

AIS yesterday announced its new tablet PC which is basically a netbook tablet. The RT10IA8M-U1/LC runs on an Atom N280 processor, 80GB HDD, 512MB RAM and has a 10.4-inch screen. It has built in WiFi (b/g). It is also possible to get one with optional WWAN module.

The resolution is just 800×600. However, the display is protected by an aluminum-magnesium alloy casing. It has sealed ports for complete IP54 compliance waterproof and dust-proof protection. It also has Mil-STD-810F military standard for shock, vibration, and drop resistant.

Price: $1499. Expensive. We know that but then not every device gives you military grade protection.

Note: you also have the choice to get one with Industrial CF card or SSD instead of 80GB HDD.
