AMD official- Yes there’s scarcity of HD 5000 series

Fudzilla interviewed AMD Product Manager Dave Baumann, in which he confessed that the outfit was facing serious shortages of all HD 5000 series product. He also added that there were certain problems in production with TSMC and was not in control by AMD. The production will surely take new turn in next few weeks. He also committed to increase its delivery to the fullest. The manager further said that, company is still on track to introduce Redwood and Cedar products in Q1 2010.

AMD has something in mind, something related to its next generation stuff, might be 2010 generation of DirectX 11 hardware. Codenamed after fifty headed gigantic creature in Greek mythology, ‘Hecatoncheires’. It is supposed to have brand new architecture and a updated version of R770.The other three desktop and three mobile chips are also to be named after such Greek character or in Greek, which to be readied in late 2010.

ASUS EEE 1008HA’s keys makes a lot of NOISE while typing! – Not recommended for people who type a lot

Yesterday, we posted unboxing pictures of the ASUS EEE 1008HA. We were very pleased with the overall design. But, we did not talk about the keyboard in that post.The ASUS has come up with a totally new keyboard, which has not been used in any of the previous generations. The keyboard is not chiclet-type, like the one found in the EEE 1000HE (reviewed here). That said, the keyboard won our hearts design-wise! It has full size right shift key and the keys look pretty much full-laptop sized.But, the moment you start typing on it, you will also start hearing (irritating) noise produced by the keys. This is not an indication for good build quality for sure. Note that we were not hammering the keys. We have used all sorts of netbooks so far. Till now, the best keyboard we’ve used is the one found on the ACER ASPIRE D250 (which is same as D150 (review), but with N280 CPU).NOTE: This post was made on the EEE 1008HA whose keys made a lot of noise while typing

Samsung unveils designer netbooks – bitten by HP’s bug?

Samsung has collaborated with French fashion brand, Agnès b to make designer NC10 models. The NC10 is a great little netbook that can still give other netbooks a run for their money. This designer netbook is no different from the ‘normal’ NC10 netbook in terms of specs. It still comes with Atom N270 processor; 160GB HDD and 1GB RAM. Its 6-cell battery can give you upto 6-7 hours of battery life.

Call me boring but I am not a huge fan of designer netbooks.
