Acer AO751H REVIEW (same as Acer LT3000) (Acer Aspire One 751)
With so many netbook manufactures now breaking into the 10-inch+ screen limit, Acer was no way going to left behind in the business where it actually rules. The Acer A0751H is the first Acer Aspire One to sport an Intel Atom Z 520 processor that is clocked at 1.3GHz. However, the best part of this netbook is its resolution: 1366 x 768 px, which gives it an obvious edge over its competitors. So, was it able to impress us?

Android Netbook by Skytone
Yesterday, we posted about the ibuddie netbook which would be powered by Android OS. Now, Skytone is also going to release its Android powered netbook.
It will come with following specifications:
- 533MHz ARM processor
- 7-inch touchscreen
- 800 x 480 resolution
- 128MB of RAM
- 1GB of storage
- SD card slot
- 3G (optional)
The netbook may seem pretty underpowered when compared to the netbooks powered by Atom processor, but we must not forget that we are talking about a netbook that runs mobile OS. Android OS is certainly not ‘that’ tasking on the CPU and hence, does not a lot of horsepower to run.
It is nice to the option to get one with 3G built-in though.
Sharp PC-NJ70A Netbook is different from other netbooks – Features LCD in its Trackpad!
Remember the Sharp Mebius netbook that we mentioned a couple of days back? Well, some new details have emerge about it, something that makes it very different from the other netbooks in the market. It features an LCD trackpad.
About the Trackpad
Contrary to what you must be thinking about its utility, it features multi-touch too. Looks like engineers at Sharp took some thoughts from the Apple’s book. The resolution of the trackpad is really notable: 854 x 480. That is more than the one found on the early EEEs! (700 series). The brightness is automatically adjusted. The LCD on the trackpad can also be used as a second LCD and its resolution is not too bad for running programs. However, you will to squint your eyes to read the text.

HTC TOUCH HD as a Mobile Internet Device (MID)- Review
This time we are going to review it from a different perspective – AS A MOBILE INTERNET DEVICE. If you have been following the windows mobile scene from the past couple of years, you must have observed that the display size of the mobile phones has decreased in size over the years. Whether we all like it or not, but it was the iPhone that brought the big screen to attention to the mobile phone manufactures.
Top 10 reasons you should NOT get a SONY VAIO P
- Over-Priced: We fully understand the fact that it is SONY. But, paying so much for a device that performs so poorly does not make any sense
- Super high resolution: What is the point of giving the user super high resolution in an 8-inch screen? Is SONY under some contract of putting so outrageous resolutions in small screens? Looks like they learned nothing from their UX series which squeezed 1024×600 pixels in an 4.3-inch display
- HDD not easily upgradable: Although we do not upgrade the HDD everyday, but it should be easily swappable in case something goes wrong with the HDD or if the user wishes to use SSD
- Non-upgradable RAM
- Poor performance by the entry level model: 1.33GHz simply chokes while running Vista
- Even entry level model costs nearly twice as much as other netbooks in the market
- Making the entry level model bundle with Windows Vista
- Whole device is built around the keyboard and not anything else: I guess the engineers at SONY did not use the device for more than 5 minutes.
- Trackball: Trackpad is the way to go.
- Below-average or just average battery life with the standard battery: Even if the SONY is entering so late in the netbook market, it should have already made out that the people want netbooks with REALLY good battery life. Netbooks with 2-3 hours battery life are things of past now.
Do yourself a favour and get something on which you can really work upon.
ASUS S121 now official
ASUS has made the bigger brother of sleek and stylish EEE S101 now official. Oddly enough, it is not carrying the EEE brand.
Here are its specs:
- 12.1-inch display
- 1280 x 800 resolution
- Intel Atom Z520 1.33GHz processor
- 1GB RAM
- 250GB HDD
- 1.3MP webcam
- 3 USB ports
- 1.45kg
- 4-cell battery li-poly (3600mAh)
Intel Atom Z520 processor for such a premium laptop/netbook? Why ASUS, why?
Also, for the first time, ASUS is giving the user the option to opt for the Windows Vista (basic version). Do not get scared, XP version is still available.
