Qualcomm planning to release a $200 3G netbook for India
Folks at NetbookIndia have gathered some exiting news: Qualcomm is going to use India as its testing ground for testing out their low-cost PC known as Kayak. They are already in talks with the big cellular providers in India to unveil a 3G netbook for under $220.
Commentary: If they are really able to roll out a 3G netbook for that price, it would be commendable! However, I shudder to think of the specs that such netbook would carry
HP Snapdragon Smartbook exposed – made by Qualcomm
At an event in China, PT & Network Comm China 2009, Qualcomm displayed an 7-inch snapdragon smartbook which will be sold by HP, perhaps in few months from now. This smartboook runs Linux and has HSDPA radio so that you can always remain connected wherever you go. It has an antenna which should increase the signal, if extended.
Snapdragon, Qualcomm’s 1GHz processor for mobile devices should be mighty fast on this Linux machine. Nothing is known is about its and availability
