HP, Dell and MSI planning to release Touchscreen Tablet netbooks

ASUS launched its tablet netbook Eee PC T91 a couple of months back and various online news sources have confirmed that Apple is also all set to release their first 9.7” touchscreen tablet. Now, it seems that other companies are also getting fascinated by the tablet netbook concept. This list includes HP, Dell and MSI, which might be releasing their own touchscreen netbook in the coming months. Rumor has it that MSI will roll out its 10-incher tablet in 2010 and HP will be unveling their touchscreen netbook by April or May 2010.

Although the tablet market could never pick up due to the high price tags, but the tablet netbooks certainly have the potential to become the next big thing after netbooks.

OQO cancels all preorders for MODEL 2+

OQO cancels all preorders for MODEL 2+

First we saw the disappearance of the OQO models from the expansys store and now we get the news that OQO has canceled all the preorders for the model 2+. This further makes us think one think: Is OQO on the brink of getting bankrupt?

Clearly, UMPCs are now dying due to their huge price tags and poor demand. Companies need to realize that in such tough times, it would hard for the consumer to shell out $1000+ on a UMPC. ASUS has pretty much understood this fact that they released their tablet/UMPC at a fair price tag of $549.

I am personally not at all surprised due to the fact they were NOT able to offer satisfactory service to the customers in US or anywhere around the world. See this POST for more information about the extremely poor OQO customer support.
