MiniPC launches Pine Trail nettop

MiniPC Japan has unleashed a new pine trail nettop that is powered by the new Intel Atom D510 that is a dual-core processor. Here is a quick glance at its specs:

* 1.66GHz Intel Atom D510 dual-core CPU with NM10 Chipset, GMA 3150
* 2 x RAM slots (DIMM)
* 2.5″ SATA HDD Bay
* Gigabit LAN
* 6 x USB, RJ45, PS/2 keyboard and mouse, audio jacks
* mini PCIe slot, eSATA port, VGA out
* 5.1 Channel HD Audio port

There is no HDMI port. It carries a price tag of ¥23620 (US$ 261).

Point of View to introduce new PineTrail motherboards

Earlier, Point of View unveiled Geforce 210 motherboards, which were very mascular, but not more than the upcoming ones that have even more raw power. New pine trail motherboards will feature the GT 220 or 240 GPUs, out of which latter is actively cooled.

Point of View is still testing the aforementioned graphic cards, thus no information on the pricing and availability.

Onkyo C411 – Pine Trail but small 3-cell battery

Onkyo Japan has launched its latest C411 netbook that sports the Atom N450 pine trail processor and has a 10.1-inch display (1024×600 resolution). Specifications are rather standard except for the fact that it packs in a TV tuner and FM-AM radio, something which are not usually found in netbooks that land in US.

Specs: Atom N450, GMA 3150, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD, Wi-Fi b/g/n, 0.3MP camera and runs Windows 7 Starter.

Priced at $598, it comes with small 3-cell battery that will give you mere 2.5 hours of runtime.

Samsung MU100 : All-in-One Atom goodness

Samsung is preparing to unleash its new range of All-in-One PCs, one of which is powered by Atom processor – the MU100. It comes with Pine Trail guts (N450) and has 2GB RAM, 320GB hard disk, Intel GMA 3150 chipset and Super Drive.

Runs Windows 7 Home Premium and its monitor size is 20-inches.

FIC SVE600 Pine Trail netbook unleashed

FIC has unveiled its latest netbook, the SVE600 that is powered by the latest Pine Trail Atom N450 processor that runs at 1.66GHz clock speed.

Equipped with a 10.1-inch screen and bog-standard 1024×600 resolution, this FIC netbook comes with 2.5-inch HDD (upto 500GB supported), 1GB RAM (expandable to 2GB) and runs Windows 7. If you are an SSD-lover, you can get one with upto 32GB of solid state goodness. Comes with a vast variety of connectivity options – WiMax, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet and HSDPA. A Linux based model is available too.

Zotac unveils Pine Trail motherboards

Zotac has launched its first motherboard based on the latest Pine Trail platform. Comes equipped with the apishly agile Atom D510 dual core chipset that runs at a clock speed of 1.66GHz and sporting the GMA 3150 graphics which is also used in the pine trail netbooks, it has 10 USB 2.0 ports (and yes, you read that right, “10 ports!”).

It even packs in an HDMI and eSATA port. Other standard nettop feature includes VGA port, 2 single channel DDR2 slots (upto 4GB RAM supported), WiFi b/g/n and Ethernet. Costs €100 and shipping will commence at the end of January 2010.

MSI offer SUSE Moblin on U135 netbook

MSI is now going to offer a Wind U135 netbook running SUSE Moblin 2.1 (a Linux distro). Underneath, you get all the latest Pine trail goodies, which means that it comes equipped with the Atom N450 (1.66GHz) processor and GMA 3150 chipset. You get 1GB RAM and 250GB hard disk for storage.

Although Ubuntu is yet to make a big splash in the netbook market, it is definitely nice to see another Linux distro getting a big push from popular netbook manufacture, MSI. Let’s hope that in 2010, more netbook manufactures will jump onto the Linux bandwagon.

MSI U130, U135 launched in India

MSI has unveiled two new pine trail netbooks in India – MSI WIND U135 and WIND U130. Both are very similar in terms of specifications – Atom N450, GMA 3150 and so on. MSI is also bundling a CPU clock utility similar to Asus’ Super Hybrid Utility.

Price: MSI U130 – $500 (Rs 23000) and MSI U135 – $543 (Rs 25000). Pretty expensive compared to US price, if you ask me. MSI U135 is being retailed for $329 in US

PS: for those who don’t know, those two netbooks are the first ones to receive the International WiMax Forum Certification

Gateway has updated its LT21 series with the N450 Pine trail processors from Intel. Rest of the specs have not undergone any change. You get the vanilla 10.1-inch display with 1024×600 resolution, a roomy keyboard, 1GB RAM, 160/250GB hard disk, 3 USB 2.0 ports, VGA and multi-card reader. There are two operating systems to choose from – Windows XP and Windows 7 Starter

To be made available in 3 colors: Red, Black and White. Prices start at $299

Shuttle is all set to unleash its new lineup for the year 2010. The most noticeable is the All-in-One that uses the Intel D510 Pine Trail CPU meant for nettops. Other specs are plain netbook-ish.
