Lenovo Ideapad U150 noticed at CEATEC Japan – a CULV netbook from Lenovo
At CEATEC Japan, Lenovo was displaying an 11.6-inch Lenovo Ideapad U150 that is sports a bit beefier specs than the usual netbooks that we mention everyday. Instead of the usual Atom,it uses an Intel Core 2 Duo processor (according to PCwatch, it is ultra low voltage). It has 250GB hard disk, 2GB RAM, Intel GMA X4500 graphic chipset. Weighing just 1.35kg and being just 13.5mm thick, it should be pretty darn easy to carry around. It has full size keyboard and has decent-size touchpad.
It has some luxuries that you do not see in a usual netbook like leather palm rest and patterns all over its body.


Starling NB1000 netbook – err, where is the TouchPad?
Hong Kong manufacturer, Starling has unveiled NB1000 netbook. It comes with an 10-inch screen and an Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB HDD. Also included are three USB ports, Ethernet and VGA ports. It is touchpad flushed with the palm rest beneath the keyboard. Unfortunately, it is being sold in Hong Kong only. It is available at a fair price of HK$2,498 (about $322).

Microsoft keyboard and mouse – offers special functions in Windows 7
Microsoft has introduced the new Wireless Desktop 5000 Keyboard and mouse set that includes a Comfort Curve keyboard and the Wireless Mouse 5000. It comes with soft-touch palm rest and low-profile quite touch keys. Other hand you will find rubber side grips and is based on Microsoft’s BlueTrack technology. It will some support of windows 7 features such as the device stage that gives customer quick and easy access to common tasks and the Windows flip hot key. It has range of capacity 30 feet and including a 2.4GHz USB mini transceiver for connecting. It will be available for $79.95.

Fingerprint MOD for Dell Mini 9 netbook
Although Dell Mini 9 is not latest and greatest anymore, but that did not stop the modders from putting in a fingerprint reader into it. rich2871, a member at Dell mini forum has come up with a mod where he has put in a fingerprint reader into the small body of Mini 9, which he can converted into a hackintosh.
However, keep in mind that you will have to do some cutting to make space for the fingerprint reader and after doing that your warranty will be voided.
